The light snow and cold weather did not keep away 30 plus mentors for a night of networking celebrating the close of Mentoring Month over wine and cheese at Christ Church in Summit, NJ.

Rev. Chuck Rush of Christ Church in Summit enthusiastically spoke about the St. Benedict’s Prep experience and the importance of love and support in leading to the success of young men in our urban areas. S/PA staff spoke about ways in which mentors can effectively communicate with their mentees and veteran Partners shared countless stories about their experiences mentoring S/PA students. We had 4? new mentors at the event who are looking forward to developing a relationship with their mentees. 2 of our mentors had just met their students for the first time that morning and were enthused by the energy in the room.

While we all know how important spending time with our students is, it is also important to network with other mentors to share strategies for developing strong relationships with our mentees as they develop during their high school experiences.
