Kristin Shannon

Executive Director

Kristin joined Student/Partner Alliance as the Director of Marketing and Communications in 2022 and was promoted to Executive Director in 2025.  She has over 25 years of work experience in Advertising, Marketing and Sales, working in NYC for Young and Rubicam, The Excite Network and Drum Associates.  Prior to joining Student/Partner Alliance, Kristin served as a Marketing Specialist at iEnterprises Holdings, LLC, a Computer Software Company based in Chatham, NJ.  Kristin is an active volunteer in her community, having served as President of the Chatham Newcomers and Social Club as well as holding a position on the Communications Committee at Fairmount Country Club.  While with iEnterprises, she successfully organized a number of charitable events benefitting the Tri-County Scholarship Fund in Mendham, NJ. Kristin earned her B.A. in American Studies from Lafayette College in Easton, PA.  She lives in Chatham, NJ with her husband, Josh and their two sons.

Kate Hutson

Program and Development Associate

Kate joined Student/Partner Alliance as Program and Development Associate in February 2024. She has over 13 years of experience in the non-profit sector, working as Director of the Yard School of Art at the Montclair Art Museum. Prior to her time at MAM, she worked in public relations and marketing. She holds a BA in Psychology and Fine Arts from NYU, and a MA in Art History from MSU. Kate lives in New Providence, NJ with her husband, Josh, and their two children.

Jennifer Van Vort

Administrative Associate

Jennifer joined Student/Partner Alliance in 2025. She brings over 30 years of experience dedicated to enhancing public health and education at both the community and national levels. Jennifer’s career began with coordinating demographic research in reproductive, maternal, and child health. She then took on a leadership role as the Director of Program Services for the northern New Jersey chapter of the March of Dimes, overseeing both professional and community education programs. Most recently, Jennifer spent a decade in higher education, serving as the administrator for Montclair State University’s graduate program in Family Sciences & Human Development. A lifelong New Jersey resident, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College and has lived in Warren, NJ with her family for the past 16 years.
